The Midwest is facing record demand for propane for both corn drying, due to the wet crop, and home heating needs, due to below normal temperatures. On October 3o, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers signed an executive order declaring an energy emergency in the state. Propane terminals around the state are out of product or on a very tight allocation, limiting the number of loads that companies can take out each day. With corn drying not even half way through and more cold weather coming, we feel the situation is only going to get worse over the next few weeks.
At Insight FS, we are doing everything we can to keep our customers supplied with propane. In many cases we are beginning to ration propane based on customer use and needs. That means many of our drivers are out having difficult conversations. We saw similar conditions in 2013/14 and we are prepared to do everything in our power to meet demand. Please bear with us while we in Wisconsin, and many other midwestern states, work through these conditions and the shortage.
Thank you.
